Beyonce and Jay Z top Vanity Fair's power list, Who runs the world? Beyonce and Jay Z, according to Vanity Fair's recently released list of "The New Establishment," which ranks 25 members of the "power elite."

Just weeks after the musical couple dominated Forbes list of highest-earning celebrity couples -- the magazine estimated their net worth was $95 million -- Vanity Fair placed them at the top of their list, ahead of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Walt Disney head Bob Iger and Rupert Murdoch.

Beyonce, 32, and Jay Z, 43, came in at No. 8 on last year's list.

"The music business may be reeling from the digital revolution, but this power couple is only getting stronger," the mag says.

Jay Z managed to take his latest album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, platinum even before putting it on sale, thanks to a pre-order deal with Samsung. Meanwhile, Beyoncé delivered a scintillating Super Bowl halftime performance, released an HBO documentary, and then promptly sold out her world tour, the Mrs. Carter Show.

Other entertainment pioneers, like filmmaker J.J. Abrams and Comedy Central's Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, also made the list.
