Kate Upton: Maksim Chmerkovskiy Breakup 2013, Men all over the world are celebrating after learning that model Kate Upton has split from her boyfriend of 6 months, former "Dancing with the Stars" dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
Us Weekly was the first to break the news that the pair had split, and they blamed their "hectic schedules" for their breakup. "They are really good friends still and speak all the time, but their schedules just made it too difficult and it fell apart," a source told Us. "[Chmerkovskiy] has a lot of respect for her, but it just wasn't working anymore." (Maksim's people, when contacted by Us Weekly, "declined" to comment on his personal life.)
Us exclusively revealed back in June that the 21-year-old Other Woman actress and 33-year-old Dancing With the Stars pro were dating. The twosome went public with their romance in September -- holding hands during a walk in New York City. One month later, Chmerkovskiy opened up about their relationship with Us at the Oct. 17 launch of his brother Val Chmerkovskiy's Valentin Clothing at Philippe in Beverly Hills, and he seemed to be smitten with the model.
"She's an amazing person," Chmerkovskiy gushed. "We have an incredible time together, and, you know, I definitely didn't see that coming and I think neither did she. We enjoy each other's company very much and like I said, she's a great girl that I never thought anything romantic like this could have happened."
Kate has been making the news lately, according to The Huffington Post, for her work on the upcoming film, "The Best Man," which also stars Cameron Diaz. The film stars Diaz as a woman who thinks she's met the perfect guy (played by "Game of Thrones" star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), until she finds out he already has a wife (Leslie Mann). As they learn more about each other, they also discover he's got another other woman (Upton's character, who's referred to as "The Boobs"). The three of them then decide to team up to get back at the cheater.
